About the event

Shakti Temple Dance™ is a fusion devotional dance form inspired by Classical, Folk, Court and Temple Dance traditions of India as well as Tribal Fusion Bellydance. In ancient dance traditions, dance was used as a means of communing with the Beloved; the formless spirit that exists within the vessel of form that is the body. In Shakti Temple Dance we work with universal and elemental themes within ancient and modern dance forms in order to commune with the Beloved within and without, and to offer the beauty of our art in devotion to the Divine as a moving prayer.


In this series explore sensuous movements of Tribal Fusion Bellydance as well as Raqs Sharqi (Egyptian style bellydance) overlaid on a Greek soundscape. this will create a great foundation for later series where Indian fusion will be introduced.
